Our Story

About ADAM.

The Anxiety and Depression Association for Men, a nonprofit. Practical help for men dealing with anxiety and depression, with no speech required.

Nonprofit Free to Join Private 24/7 Crisis Resources Built For Men

Practical help for men, without the speech.

ADAM, the Anxiety and Depression Association for Men, is a nonprofit operating under the Mending Minds brand. We exist to make it easier for a man to get help with anxiety or depression than to keep not getting it: short guided audio, a clear route to a therapist, crisis lines on every page, and, when it can be run safely, a moderated community of other men.

Behind the shorthand are men we know.

Fathers, sons, partners, and friends. Not a category, and not somebody else.

US men lived with a mental illness in the past year. That is about 1 in 6 adult men.

of those men got no treatment in the past year. More than half.

Not just another wellness site.

ADAM was built from the ground up to meet men where they actually are.

01 · Approach

Practical First

Short audio you can use tonight, a clear route to a therapist, and crisis lines on every page. The community comes when it can be run safely.

02 · Perspective

Created for Men, By Men

The tone, the pacing, and what we leave out are all chosen for men who would rather not be here. Nobody is asked to open up on arrival.

03 · Trust

Privacy First

Your participation is entirely on your terms. We collect the minimum we need, we never sell your data, and you control what you share. What we do collect, and who processes it, is set out in the privacy policy.

04 · Culture

No Judgment

You do not have to be in crisis to be here, and you do not have to be doing well either. Showing up counts.

Our Vision

Men getting help for anxiety and depression as routinely as they would for a bad knee. No shame attached, no speech required.

Asking is the hard part. ADAM exists to make it a smaller step.

Five values we live by.

Authenticity

No performance, no pep talks.

Community

Other men who get it.

Confidentiality

Your story is yours to share.

Compassion

Understanding without judgment.

Action

Things you can use today.

What we stand for.

01

We tell you what exists, not what we intend to build.

02

Nothing here requires you to explain yourself first.

03

We do not sell, share, or trade what you tell us.

04

Crisis help comes first on every page, and never behind a login.

05

If we cannot deliver something yet, we say so in writing, next to the thing.

Who's behind ADAM.

ADAM began with one person and a clear purpose. An advisory network of licensed mental health professionals, researchers, and community leaders is actively being built.
