Privacy Policy.
Plain language about what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

The short version
Mending Minds, operated by ADAM, the Anxiety and Depression Association for Men, a nonprofit, exists to support men's mental health. Privacy is not a legal checkbox for us. It is a condition of the trust this community runs on. We collect the minimum we need, we never sell your data, and what you share with us stays with us.
What we collect
Account information you give us, such as your name, email address, and username, and the paid membership level you reserve, if you reserve one. Donation and, once paid membership opens, membership payment details, processed by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number. Content you choose to submit, such as a contact message or a story you share. Basic technical data your browser sends and our web server records automatically, such as browser type, IP address, and which pages were requested, kept for security and troubleshooting.
A note on sensitivity
We know that being a member here can itself say something personal about you. We treat your membership status, your activity, and anything you share as sensitive information. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers, and we never will.
How we use your information
To provide your membership and the services you signed up for, to process donations, to moderate any community features when they open, to respond when you contact us (contact form messages are emailed to us and are not stored on this website), to send the newsletter only if you ask for it and confirm, and to send service emails you can opt out of where they are not essential to your account.
Services we rely on
Five kinds of service provider handle data on our behalf: our website host, our payment processor for donations and memberships, the AI service behind the site chat, our email delivery provider, which sends account messages, carries messages from our contact form to our inbox, and sends the newsletter if you ask for it and confirm by email, and our analytics provider, Google Analytics, described below. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your information for their own purposes. The Guided Resets audio is served from our own site rather than a third-party video platform, so listening does not hand your activity to anyone else. Conversations with the site chat are processed to generate a reply and are not used to identify you. We will tell you who these providers are if you ask.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the site functioning.
We also use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used: which public pages are visited, how people find us, and roughly which city or region visits come from. We have set it up narrowly:
- It does not run on your account, sign-up, or member pages, or on the Guided Resets library, so it never sees whether you have an account or what you listen to.
- It does not set analytics cookies or store an identifier on your device unless you allow it, using the choice we show the first time you visit. Until you do, it records only anonymous page counts. You can change your answer at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as a no without asking.
- We never send your name, email address, or anything you type into the site to Google Analytics.
- Google's advertising features and Google signals are turned off, we do not share analytics data with Google for its own purposes, and we do not use it for advertising of any kind.
You can also block Google Analytics on every site you visit with Google's opt-out browser add-on, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We do not run any advertising tracker, and we do not build profiles of visitors. If we ever add another analytics or tracking tool, we will say so here before it takes effect.
Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information by contacting us or through your account settings. You can close your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights, and we honor requests regardless of geography where we reasonably can.
Who can join
Mending Minds is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell members directly rather than quietly editing a page.
