Resources

Tools, support, and real help.

Crisis resources, therapist directories, and daily practices you can start today. Built for men, free to use, no account required.

Find a therapist who gets it.

We do not keep our own list of providers. A directory nobody verifies is worse than no directory at all. Below are the three that are maintained by people whose job that is, with a note on which to try first.

Before you book: whichever directory you use, confirm licensure, current availability, and insurance acceptance directly with the provider. And if tonight is bad, do not wait on an appointment. Call or text 988.

Questions about mental health resources.

Straight answers to common questions.

Crisis resources including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and the Crisis Text Line, routes into three actively maintained therapist directories, a set of daily practices you can start without any app or subscription, and the Guided Resets audio library. A moderated peer community for men is in development.
We point you to three directories rather than maintaining our own: HeadsUpGuys Directory (therapists with experience working with men, across the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and beyond), Psychology Today (filter by insurance, specialty, and treatment approach), and the SAMHSA Treatment Locator (confidential help finding mental health and substance use treatment facilities nationwide).
Yes. Everything on this page is free and needs no account, including the crisis resources, the directory routes, and the daily practices. For immediate free support, men can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or call 1-800-662-4357 (SAMHSA National Helpline). A free account adds the full Guided Resets audio library.
In men, anxiety often manifests as irritability, anger, or physical symptoms like headaches and digestive issues rather than the worry and fear more commonly recognized. Depression in men frequently appears as withdrawal, risk-taking behavior, substance use, or aggression rather than sadness. Men are often slower to recognize or name these patterns. The NIMH page on men and mental health is a good plain-language starting point, and none of this replaces talking to a professional.
If you've had persistent sadness, irritability, or hopelessness for more than two weeks, lost interest in things you used to enjoy, are having trouble sleeping or concentrating, are using alcohol or other substances to cope, or are having thoughts of self-harm, it is time to talk to a professional. The directories above can help you find someone who works with men. If you're in crisis right now, call or text 988.

You found the resources. Now take the step.
